Before beginning on that divinely-inspired break from political and social engagements in July 2023, engaging the boys at The BoyCode Academy -- a thoughtful initiative put together by my friend @precious_eniayekan [@thestellar_academy ] -- was one of the very last invites I honored. It's been almost 2 years since being a part of this and having followed the results and impact stories closely, I'm genuinely happy that an initiative like this exist and waxes stronger in our country and in Africa. Since my foray into politics, Mrs Olaomo has remained a steady source of support and encouragement. She was there at the very beginning and it is my desire that she be around all through this long and adventurous ride. Even in my checkered participaton now and my being away, she has remained steadfast on the @ayolomajasi mandate and mantra in our constituency. Her ears are peeled and her mind is sharp. She's the kind of follower any leader would be proud to have and be confident in the fact that he's got a truly loyal person on his team. Today is not her birthday but this is an appreciation post to someone I've adopted as my aunt from another mother. She sent a million prayers via voice note as we entered the new year. I just got to listen to the last of it and it almost brought tears to my eyes. May God bless you aunty mi. May all your prayers be answered and may all your labour never be in vain. Only few voices have resonated with me the way P.K's has. I was privileged, alongside my brother @johnsonbabajide to meet with a mentor of mentors, Sir @olakunlesoriyan yesterday. It seemed to me like an Aristotle and Alexander the Great teaching moment. P.K has a force and graciousness about him and the 20+ plus unscheduled minutes we spent discussing(and largely picking his thoughts) on the state of politics, country, and leadership were very enlightening. There were several light bulb moments especially as he shared insights on the nature and realities of power, and the forces shaping the world. Grateful to learn from such an iconoclast.
