Over the years, a few people have had the chance to read parts of Diary of a Heartbreak Kid before its release, and one thing keeps repeating itself, people feel connected to it in very personal ways.
Maybe because the emotions in it are familiar. Maybe because some of the poems sound like thoughts people have had but never really said out loud.
Before DAHK turns into the experience everyone will walk into on the 17th, these reviews are a reminder that the work has already been sitting with people for years.

Inna lilahi wa inna lilahi raju’un.
With total submission to the will of Allah, my siblings and I are sad to announce the death of our mother who passed away on 23rd December 2025. She was buried on the same day according to Islamic rights.
She is survived by her mother, siblings, kids - adopted and biological, a lot of grandkids, and a city that adores her.
During her life, she was known for her kindness, generosity, willingness to mother everyone she came across, providing family, community and belonging to everyone who needed it. She leaves behind shoes we can’t fill, and a legacy we could never match.
We invite you to give charity and say dua for her by her name: Safiya Othman. May Allah have mercy on her soul, forgive all her sins, and grant her Jannatul firdaus.
