In this years MBU I had the honor to work with Columbus musician @iamamberknicole on this years 3rd annual “Made by us” auction fundraiser for the arts brought to you by @wildgoosecreative in partnership with @gatewayfilmcenter .
Inspired by the @mojoflomusic artist @iamamberknicole sound, vibe, and essence, I had to capture her personality and vibrancy along with her inspired sounds that she captured on her walks of @lifeincolumbus . Sunsets on @thesciotomile , walks down high street in the @shortnorthartsdistrict all contributed to the collaboration in this piece.
The auction was this past weekend. And it was nothing but good vibes with creative friends and community!
As an artist no matter the piece you want it to go to the RIGHT HOME! Not just a random purchase or flip! I have had the honor to have collectors, work appraised and insured but I tell you it’s no greater feeling than having someone who really wants your piece, because it speaks to their spirit and space and they love your style. You can feel it because apart of us is in each piece we create. And like the great Badu said “I’m an artist; and I’m sensitive about my shit”. We take it very serious! So I am selective on where my art goes! Thank you @modhottle for telling me your story and making sure this piece has the right home in such a historical space in columbus.
