03.31.23 | I wrote ‘Breathe’ 3 years ago, as I was about to graduate from school. About to… because I almost didn’t… 🥲 I call that spring semester the most DIRE time of my life… 🫪 My thesis was overdue because of so many reasons beyond of my control. I was working about 40hr/wk, and taking 7 graduate-level courses. But I had to finish strong, even though I was weak. I was truly at the end of myself, and hope was wasting away… But then, the Word of the Lord came. It was like a whisper. A fresh wind of hope. In the melody of this song. “Just breathe… Just breathe…” I began to — no, I HAD TO — remind myself who God was. Has he ever failed me? Has He ever let me down? Don’t I know that He can do miracles? Don’t I know that He brings the dead to life? Causes dry bones to live? Heals diseases? Forgives sins? He is just and He is kind. He is willing and He is able. The same God from Eze 37 is the same God in Matt. 8. I just need to receive His word with faith... And whew… when I tell you I locked in like I never have in my life?… 🫪🧎🏾‍♀️ I still don’t know how He revived me. I’m sure the army of dry bones were amazed that they could live again, too. He revived my joy, my peace, my trust in Him. He revives. It’s in His nature. It’s who He is. He is the Resurrection and the Life.
