A look into Dublins Rave scene:
On Friday Night (images 1-9) I was invited to document
@wigwamdublin and their impressive multi-stack performance of talented DJs. All were superb, but
@jennhession delivered a terrific performance, with her mixing of genres and control of the decks, it caused the crowd to fluidly dance almost in unison. There was an undeniable level of charm to the whole set, and documenting it first hand was something else entirely.
Then the following night (images 10-16) I attended an incredible rave collaboration by both
@annaghtekofficial and
@faceless.tribe32 , hosted in a secret north side location, which carried on far much longer into the night than the event the previous Friday. The set design was moody yet colourful, and the crowd danced harsher than any other one I had seen. People came from all corners of Ireland to attend, and they were nothing short of friendly. Secrecy is key to Annaghteks survival, like with faceless tribe, and any other collective, and I find the beauty of it mesmerising.
Music unites all, and in a time like this where Irish communities often feel divided, these events negate those fears, and allow anyone, no matter what their background or life story is, to dance in unity.
