Sydney based Burmese-Thai beatmaker ZZARNI came through to the studio, performing a set solely comprising of his own. From luxurious Meek Mill flips to detailed percussive intstrumentals, ZZARNI delivered an electric solo set. Shoutout to @_zzarni for pulling up, this one’s special. Playground! A solo show by me this Saturday (13/12/25) at @dofilmlab
Taking on further studies this year has meant less time on the camera. However, it has allowed me to go through my archives and repurpose and review old files. Some are well composed, some not so much, some new, some old.
This body of work is much lighter than previous works I’ve done and has allowed me to appreciate the spur of the moment of the photo rather than focusing on technique. It’s an exploration into the various forms of my curiosity throughout the last few years.
It’s an absolute privilege to do a show at the place where I develop my film 🫶 TY @dofilmlab

Opening night
6pm - 8pm

Our group show ‘Haven’t I turned every leaf in my garden?’ will be at AIRspace Projects until Sunday 18th May! @alannahdair@_zzarni
AIRspace Projects is at 10 Junction St Marrickville, opening hours are Thurs-Fri 5pm-8pm and weekends 10am-4pm.
‘Haven't I turned every leaf in my garden?’ brings forth conversations surrounding illness, disability and trauma. A meditation on the fragility of self and world, this exhibition sheds light on the violence and prejudice of our existing medical, social and cultural systems through contemplation informed by each artists' embodied experience.

Sometimes,
when it’s quiet enough,
I can hear its vibrations
A taut string I will not play
A pillar
that one could almost see swaying
when the knots are high
Haven’t I turned every leaf in my garden?
Doesn’t the grey turn back to green?
Or must it all fall before it grows again -
Too soon I feel it’s been
since I raked up the parts which made me
I look out - I’ve painted over every piece
And still,
in just enough silent nothing
stands the imprint I appease
Oh, I’ve tried and I try to make peace
incredibly gassed to have featured the incredibly talented, burmese-thai artist, street photographer, and producer Zzarni (@_zzarni ) on the show.
Zzarni delivered 45 minutes of pure sound bliss, courtesy of his Roland SP404. seamlessly weaving through hip-hop, jazzy abstract percussion, deep soul cuts and exclusive flips of sydney cult favourites GUILD, Josef and Yibby; a master curator.
