It’s finally happening…I’m honored to announce that my debut single “Jadoo”جادو (Urdu for “magic”) is releasing next week on @technicolourrecs@ninjatune !!! I’ve been such a fan of the label for years and it’s surreal to be releasing with them 🤲🏽
The artwork was hand painted on canvas by a fellow Zainab from Lahore, Pakistan @zainabxanwar ❤️ she brought the essence of this song to life. It truly captures the feeling of a magical night in Lahore.
This song is so special to me for so many reasons. I wrote and sang in Urdu, my first language. I also produced the track along with @aireatlantica . It’s an homage to the magical city of Lahore, its people, and the unexplainable feeling you get when your feet hit the homeland.
I hope it makes you realize that there is magic all around us and within us, despite the sadness of this world. And that it makes you dance, of course.

After 15 years as ZEEMUFFIN, I’m stepping into something new.
Moving forward, I will be performing and releasing music as ZAINAB.
I’m so proud of my name, what it represents, and its history. I’m excited to stand in it.
It’s still the same old me - just a truer me. Thank you to every single person who has supported me through my time as ZEEMUFFIN. I can’t wait to start this new chapter with you.

4 b2b sold out Thursday’s at @publicrecordsnyc for Azadi 🥹🌹 i’m still processing this past month. Every single artist brought their A game. I got to go back to back with some of my favorite DJs, including @uniiqu3music@arthi.nachiappan and @aku.vig , and witnessed life changing sets from @edenbekele_@ariannadanae@jialing.bigj@djguari@mathiasxdc@siddbeats_ 💘 this residency really showed me what nightlife is all about. People came early and danced till the very end under the mirrorball, made new friends, discovered new music, and for a brief moment, felt free! If you were there all four nights, first thank you, and second what was your favorite night? I love you all and I’m so grateful I get to share music with you!
