how software has shifted from a tool into something deeply human and cultural. I worked closely
with the incredible team at @littletroopinc , who led the creative direction, collaborating to build an
ethereal, tactile world that gives form to invisible interactions. 🗣️🌈✨

Happy new year! This year we have the honor of welcoming artist ✮ Dena Springer ✮ @_yukapuka_ to the Cutie roster! Dena is a Chicago based director, illustrator, and animator known for her candy-colored world-building, brought to life through illustration and moving image, with a focus on 2D animation. Inspired by her love for 90s cartoons and video game music, Dena approaches each project with her signature ethereal sense of play, creating storytelling that feels timelessly evocative and ever nostalgic.
It feels strange to post anything light right now with everything happening in Chicago. 💔❤️🩹 My heart’s been heavy seeing what’s going on with ICE raids and the city’s tension.
But this project meant a lot to me, and I wanted to share it. I made the exit animation for @zachlanebryan Quittin’ Time Tour last year, which played across stadium screens. So it’s been sitting on my drive way too long because… how do you even crop something that wide?? 😅
🌀Huge thanks to the amazing director @bongoboy for bringing me on board — I’ve admired his work for years and was so excited to be a part of this.🙏

✨ Back in July, I was invited by Maris Jones Productions to animate assets for Chappell Roan’s European Tour. The show was beautifully art directed and designed by Maris and her team, with stunning inspiration from Fantasia and Fantastic Planet. I only animated her amazing creatures and assets, but it was truly a dream come true to be part of a beautifully crafted production.
