Jet Around Cayman 2026 didn’t go as planned… a series of unfortunate events, but through it all, I never gave up and finished the race.
Off the start, I was exactly where I wanted to be — holding my own with the front runners and feeling confident heading into the first checkpoint.
Then everything changed.
The chop picked up, pushing riders toward the reef. One rider cut across me trying to avoid it, causing my craft to lose control. Next thing I know… I’m airborne at full speed looking back at my ski.
One of the hardest falls I’ve had since I started racing.
With no one there to rescue me, adrenaline took over as I made my way back to the ski - which was now floating in less than a foot of water over the reef.
Disoriented, down a pair of goggles, ejected helmet padding, a busted vest, shoes barely hanging on, and a body full of pains. But I was determined to make it through the remaining checkpoints and on to the finish.
In the end, I crossed the finish line 16th out of 36 riders in one of the most competitive years yet.
A reminder that sometimes the real win is simply finishing.
