I’ve had an influx of new followers these past few months and wanted to share my love for the afro-Caribbean cuisine.
If you’re new here, welcome to withBee! We’re serving up bold, flavor-packed Afro-Caribbean dishes inspired by the deep connections between West Africa, the Caribbean, and the American South.
Right now, you can find us vending at Smorgasburg LA- bringing dishes like Dibi Lamb Shank to the table. Slow-roasted until tender and seasoned with our signature Spiced. withBee Oxtail blend, it’s served over Jollof Pelau and topped with yassa— a perfect balance of spice, smoke, and tradition.

I wanted to formally say hello to all 700+ of you who found me since @ericbenet so graciously shared support for THIS little engine that could! Since then, so many of you have shown up to say hello and run up the jerk branzino escovitch! (it’s my favorite item on the menu- though i’m biased as a chef 🤭).
I am truly appreciative of this community built from scratch. We chat in the comments, educate each other in the DM’s and come up with specials together- and i love that for us!

We started with the Doubles; soft fried bara stuffed with curried chickpeas, tamarind chutney, and herb sauce. Sweet. Savory. A little dramatic. Exactly how I like my flavor. 😮💨
Then I built a mini plate; Jollof Pelau glowing like it knew it was the main character, Curry Channa rich and layered, caramelized plantains doing what they do best. Bold. Warm. Intentional. 🔥
And the Akara? Black-eyed pea fritters with that green sauce… crispy outside, soft inside. A proper mic-drop moment. 🎤

Shoutout to @wildforkfoods for supplying us with premium, hormone- and antibiotic-free brisket.

I wanted to officially wish you all a happy New Year on the main page in case you didn’t catch it in the stories.
2025 was a wild ride! Shout out to those of you that found me this year and joined this community 🥹🫂.
I had all intention to make a recap showing how wild and fun this year was - but it didn’t workout like that. & to be honest, it feels good to be at my own pace instead of always trying to keep up with the joneses.
