Philly!!! Reminder that tonight is your chance to see my O-Face!!!!! Among many other cool pieces by myself and @lenactivity @maryjchampagne @laura.sallade My MFA Thesis Exhibit ‘Lost & Found (on top of everything else)’ has its opening (and closing) reception tonight, 5-8pm, at Temple Contemporary Gallery (located within Tyler School of Art at 2001 N. 13th St). It is only up until tomorrow - now is your chance!!!! Special performance by @lenactivity at 6:30! Constructed from cast off samples and dye scraps, I began O-Face on the winter solstice and completed it during that weird inbetween of the old & new years as a way to bring light during the dark days. It feels fitting O will get its moment on the first day of spring—here’s to hope and renewal worldwide 🙏

X marks the…THESIS SHOW!?! 😱🙀😱 To my own shock and disbelief, my time in grad school is coming to a close 😫 I’ve spent the last year scrounging around for discarded fabric wherever I can—my closet, my boyfriend’s closet, thrift stores, donation bins, the street & gutters, frat house dumpsters, etc. All of that scrounging has culminated into some big ass textile-collage-quilts that serve as love letters to the magic and legacy contained within cloth. “Lost & Found (on top of everything else)” will be open March 18-21, 2026 at Temple Contemporary Gallery, with a public reception held on Friday, March 20 from 5-8pm. Temple Contemporary is located at 2001 N. 13th street, Philadelphia, PA 19130. You all are in for a treat that night - I am excited to show alongside @maryjchampagne @lenactivity @laura.sallade !!! For anyone curious, all of the white(ish) stuff in the X and border came from the street. The ties were from friends and donation bins (is the donation bin not also a friend tho?) And the background is an old quilt of mine I cannibalized by dye pot. Going to post more - why does it feel so hard anymore?!

HEY TYLER FIBERS!!! Remember last year when all the grad students randomly did takeovers on this account? It’s happening again and I’m first! Sup y’all ✌️ my name is Will Grimm and I am a second year grad here in the Fibers department. My practice is mostly sewing related (via quilts or fabric collage) but rooted heavily in ~all~ textile traditions (dyeing, weaving, spinning, etc). I will be sharing some work and process photos the next few days before turning it over to another grad. Stay tuned! The photos above are from the summer of 2024 when I was a studio assistant at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts (aka the most magical place on the damn planet!) with the fabulous Susie Brandt. Please feel free to connect with me on my personal acct @_willgrimm_ !!!!

Huge thank you to @wmquiltfiberarts for curating this show and bringing this wonderful group of artists together!!! Feeling grateful for the opportunity to share my work and talk quilty business with some real experts. Although this show is closing, if you’re ever in/around Wisconsin, I would 1000% recommend checking this place out!! Very cool vibes!!!! — ‘Wit/Whim’ explores the themes of play, family, and a sense of belonging, inviting visitors to examine the intricate ways these concepts intersect and influence our lives. The featured artists create immersive worlds with their work, experiment with different materials, and provide insightful reflections on their personal stories and collective experiences. ‘Wit/Whim’ includes the artists Russell Barratt, Susie Brandt, Ella Clemons, Will Grimm, Jeila Gueramnian, Luke Haynes and Nicole Leth, Lexy Ho-Tai, Julian Jamaal Jones, Ýr Jóhannsdóttir, Ai Kijima, Émilie Trahan, and Anna Torma.

Thank you to everyone that came out to the Preview Reception of Reconnections featuring textile artists, Jessica Pinsky and Will Grimm last night! If you weren’t able to make it last night, then we hope you can join us for the Opening Reception this Friday, July 18th from 5:00-8:00pm during @78ststudios THIRD FRIDAY Art Walk! Jessica Pinsky’s recent work draws from her experience as a mother and queer woman. She uses embedded images and color patterns from her children’s drawings as inspiration and inlay techniques which manipulate threads, disrupting the grid of warp and weft. Several larger scale works will make up this exhibit, including a monumental double weaving by Pinsky, the artist’s most ambitious work to date. Will Grimm’s fiber work is rooted in the traditions of stitching, dyeing, and weaving. His practice emphasizes improvisational techniques and labor-intensive processes that center around personal storytelling and material intuition.  Reconnections is on view through August 30, 2025
