Last year, while in school, I volunteered as a substitute lecturer. If you know me, you know I always show up for my SETTINGS.
📸@realmaxcarter reached out afterward, curious about my culture and how I mix specific fabrics and textures. Most importantly, he wanted to get me behind the lens and who says no to a free photoshoot? 😄
Great getting to know you, Max!
“Visiting the David Owsley Museum of Art reconnects me with my core as an artist. The works are more than exhibits. They are reflections of identity and ways of life. Coming from West Africa, seeing pieces created by my forefathers reminds me of the power of creativity and its role in shaping culture. As a visual storyteller, I draw inspiration from the past, finding ways to connect with and respect people from different backgrounds.”

Stop by for a visit this week and reconnect with art!

Okay, so where do I begin?😅
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve created my first VR experience and was fortunate enough to be selected to exhibit it at the International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling (@icids_conference ) in Malta. My work, titled Jollof Wars, is a VR narrative that celebrates Africa’s diverse culture. It draws inspiration from the Jollof battle, a culinary competition among African countries. By the way, Ghana Jollof is the best, and I won’t argue about it! 😅
There’s more I want to say about this achievement in the caption, but I’ll save that for another post that delves into the technical and cultural aspects of it. For now, I’m heading into a Nigerian DM to confuse them. Finally I want to Thank my professor @amplesoap for introducing me to IDNs and elevating my work. (NB: The pictures you see are for settings purposes only.)🤫🤫. #idn #vrart #virtualrealityworld
