I know I’ve mostly been drawing myself, but I’ve really started understand the idea of art therapy. I drew this about 2 years ago, just about 3ish months after my back pain started, I wasn’t able to get out much and was getting a bit of cabin fever. Little did I know how long that feeling would last, and I’m still not sure how to describe it. I’m creating a lot more lately, but working up the confidence to post more recent works since most of them are rough and emotional. I am however enjoying revisiting older works, even if they are still rough and emotional.
It’s been a year and almost a month since I had spinal surgery, the journey has not been easy to say the least. 6 screws in my spine, plus other health problems I’m working out 😩 I just wanted to post this old drawing on a whim since I can’t sleep (side effects of new meds) and one of my new years goals is to make and share more art and overall be more myself despite everything
My most recent interest has become block printing. Today I decided to sketch up some potential designs for some Spirited Away bookmarks I would like to make. I had to order a larger block of linoleum, but that will come in the mail tomorrow so wish me luck! I’ve been working on a few other projects recently as well, but I’ll post about those another day 🐸
The last few months I’ve been focusing on knitting gifts for the holidays and such, but the urge to draw has slowly started coming back to me! Started a new sketchbook yesterday and did a few little practice sketches of a couple random pictures from Pinterest. It’s not much, but it’s something 🐸

Spider lilies are one of my favorite flowers. They’re associated with final goodbyes, and legend says that they grow where people part ways for the very last time. The spider lily is a symbol of death, but also a symbol of rebirth.
