Hey all! I am currently looking for autistic and/or ADHD volunteers to take part in a small trial. We will dive into a series of guided dance exercises based on movement, interception and rhythm, designed for neurodivergent minds and focused on navigating social and non-social stimulating environments. ⚠️ Dance experience is NOT required: we want to explore together, not to perform :) What you will do: • take part to 2 group sessions (45 minutes each) • engage at your own pace • share anonymous written feedback, after each session and at the end of the experience Your contribution might directly influence the development of this newborn project and allow to foster a safe and low-pressure environment, as absolute priority. This is why there are some important requirements: • voluntary participation • age between 18-30 • living in NRW (Germany) If you're interested or want more info, just send a DM ☀️

Honoring the roots of urban dance on stage is a duty, showing our true selves through that movement is the ultimate act of resilience. Moments from "Power Within" (10.2025) at @tanzhausnrw . To everyone who was part of this journey: I will always carry the energy we shared, from the intensity of the residency to those quiet, reflective moments alone after rehearsals. Thank you for this experience. Artistic Direction/Choreography: @rubykofwski ; Choreography: @kevoosh ; Project Management: Katja Kulinski; Music Production/DJ: @Vunkylao . Dancers: Ben Stüttgen, Clara Rothkamp, Darja Linke, Elisa Dißelkamp, Emma Fischer-Fels, Ginevra Contini, Gioia Luna Stollmeier, Josefine Rolfs, Lara Garcia Büchner, Mariia Berner, Mascha Jaghinyan, Melina Grevelding, Mia Weise, Niclas Yücel, Olga Chyrzynski, Paula Schmitz, Phoebe Peak. Maybe you don't know it, but your brain is programmed to fill in the gaps, allowing you to "see" or "hear" something even when it’s incomplete. How? Through mechanisms as Predictive Processing and Amodal Completion, the brain uses prior knowledge to infer what is missing. 🍏 René Magritte already exploited this ability to catch the attention in his art: he used to paint men with hidden faces (by an apple, for example). Yet when you imagine someone covering their face with a piece of fruit, your brain automatically "perceives" a face behind it. 🚗 The same thing happens with objects: if you see a car partially hidden behind a tree, your brain reconstructs it as a whole vehicle (instead of a car sliced into pieces), even in a black and white picture. 👀 But here's the catch: this superpower can also trick us. The Kanizsa Triangle is a classic example. Spoiler: there is no white triangle at all, only carefully arranged black shapes. Your brain creates edges and surfaces that simply aren't there. 🫢 This may seem like a minor perceptual detail, but think about daily life. How often do we connect scattered elements and jump to conclusions? Maybe you've looked at a photo and thought a road had collapsed, while actually it was just a puddle reflecting the ceiling. The brain hates uncertainty, so it resolves ambiguity fast...sometimes too fast. 🍝 And this doesn't apply only to vision. In noisy environments, we can still perceive a sentence or recognize a song. How many of you mentally hear the track, even when the audio is disturbed? 🤔 In fact, what we hear can be strongly shaped by what we expect. If I tell you to expect the word "Brainstorm", you'll likely hear exactly that, even if the sound actually says "Green Needle". Or was it the other way around? :) References: 🔹Friston, K. (2010). Authenticity in dance: I am only now beginning to understand what it really means. How do you combine all the moves you keep learning and find a way to use them so they actually represent you? How do you react when what worked yesterday doesn’t work today anymore? Not only our feelings change over time, but our personalities evolve through experience. How do we face that shift each time and adapt to new circumstances? While I look for answers to these questions, I try to step into challenges I used to avoid and see what they teach me. Here @david.k.kim was a great support during this challenge ;)
