Afterimages is the debut vinyl LP from experimental musician Urner. Almost three years after our first exchange of music, I’m so happy to share this album with you. Across ten compositions, Afterimages is a truly adventurous ambient record, inventively constructed yet warmly immersive.
The sound sources of Afterimages include Sanukite lithophone tones, VGM soundfonts, uncanny PCM loops, modular synthesis, and the artist’s voice. In a thriving experimental scene filled with fresh voices, I think Urner’s world is surprisingly addictive.
The record is available now via my Bandcamp and in record stores worldwide.

@_rchau . The record sleeve features digitally composed glyphs, UV-printed onto a handmade pulp tablet. Its layout and typography draw from archeological archive websites encountered during the design process. The digital artifacts of the glyphs interact with the material surface, transforming pixelation into organic textures.
