oh you like colors? here’s all of them
realtime glsl marble madness, powered by alan zucconis spectrum/rainbow math and heavily inspired by all the cool glassblowers out there making crazy shapes and rainbows out of sand. i guess i’m doing that too in a roundabout way
more 4D is cooking but i felt inspired to do a little realtime in Synesthesia in the meanwhile
ps just crossed 1000! thank you for being 1, supporting my art, and for reading these 🙏
more exploration in the 4th dimension
this time alternating between the different rotations you can do with the 4th axis:
xw, yw, zw, xw+yw, yw+zw, xw+zw, and then all three at once
in 3d you can describe a rotation by the axis it rotates around, but in 4d it’s easier to describe which 2d plane is being rotated. you could also say i’m rotating around the yz plane at the start , or around both the y and z axis at once. you could use a mat4 to do a 3d rotation around a 4d axis but it’s hard to describe a 3d rotation without breaking it down into multiple 2d rotations ie pitch yaw roll.
sadly we don’t have 3 more standard terms for the 4d rotations
a technicolor taste of a few new tricks i’ve been trying
which direction is this rotating?
still all one glsl shader but this one definitely isn’t realtime
polar coordinates, spheres of influence, circular logic, rounds of ammunition
for #genuary 10 2026, made in synesthesia using a remapped cubemap projection of the earth
crazy automaton for genuary 8
went overcomplicated but learned a lot along the way. it’s a triangle grid game of life that converts to a hexagonal grid made up of the triangles (and back). the data is processed in an xy grid, stored in a triangle corresponding format, and then used for hexagon neighbor lookups so it got confusing at times and might still have some bugs - but now i have this code to play with!
#genuary 8 - generative metropolis, running in a glsl frag shader/raymarcher in real time in #synesthesialive . the paths and camera use a catmull-rom spline with different time offsets for smooth lookahead and sick drifting
#genuary 4 2026 - "Lowres. An image or graphic with low resolution, where details are simplified or pixelated." Tapping into the pixel art part of my brain. Used the "spectral zucconi" palette for this one for a nice rainbow look
genuary 3 - fibonacci forever. I found this 'quad fibonacci spiral' pattern in a cool academic paper on clothing patterns "Fibonacci Squares in Fashion Design" and had to see it doing an endless zoom #genuary2026
