I've been an entrepreneur ever since I can remember. When my mother suggested I start selling blow pops to my 3rd grade class it ignited a flame in me that couldn't be extinguished.
Opening my own business was more than a dream but an actualization of a inner manifestation. As I celebrate 5 years of @_icequeens , I reflect on an accomplishment that couldn't have been achieved without God, my family and YOU! Thank you customers, friends, supporters and haters! Today I celebrate my one year anniversary of opening Ice Queens. I have tears in my eyes when I reflect on how my small dream of owning my own snoball stand has turned into one of my greatest accomplishments. I will be forever grateful for my Ice Queens family who have been by my side every step of the way. Big shout out to moms, I wouldn’t have made it without you. I appreciate everyone who has every supported me on this journey. 1 year down, many more to go❤️ #icequeens

Yesterday was my Granny's birthday, and it's the first year I'm celebrating it without her. My thoughts have been completely consumed by the emotional emptiness of her absence. It's hard to conceptualize, or even accept, a life without her in it. Time seems to pass differently when it's echoed by the weight of grief . When someone passes it's hard not to think about all the words you wish you said while you still could. Nevertheless, to know loss this deeply, means I was loved with the same depth and for that I am eternally grateful.
My Granny was a special kind of woman. She was unapologetically herself with an undeniable confidence you couldn't help but notice. She was a soldier, a friend, and an activist born & raised on 2309 Arunah Avenu . She was an undercover comedian with a laugh so boisterous it was contagious. To be loved by her was a gift I do not take for granted and I'll strive to be a woman she would be proud of.
Today, with an abundance of tears, I'm blowing out 84 candles in her honor.
