Post-night shift recovery😭✋🏽
Finally getting to watch “Golden League” by @nursing_ci and honestly, every nurse, student nurse and even non-healthcare person needs to watch it. It reflects the realities of nurses in Nigeria in such a relatable way.
From the struggles nurses go through during training, to physical assault at work, quackery in the profession and even highlighting the different specialties in nursing, this movie really touched on important realities nurses face.
After surviving 4 night shifts back-to-back, this movie feels even more personal 😭

From night duty to Amala therapy.
After 4 back-to-back night shifts, I was completely drained 😭
I slept for over 10 hours that day, that’s how bad it was.
There was a moment I even reconsidered my career path 😂
But somehow, hot Amala and sleep fixed 50% of my problems🤭😂

After doing nights for 3 days straight, I decided to document my last night (Day 4) 🌙
I went in with my last energy. I was honestly very tired and just couldn’t wait to be done and over 😂
Apart from the work being stressful on its own, patients and their relatives will still add their own on top 😭
This particular night, a patient looked at me with pity and said,
“Ahh, eku ise.”
Na real work o.
I can’t believe some people actually think nurses sleep during night duty. Someone once said,
“What’s in night duty? Is it not to just sleep?” 😭
It was doing me like I should daze the person.
Omooo, thank God I later bought that banana 🍌
By the time I wanted to eat my food, the rice was already melting 😭
I couldn’t even cry.
I just ate my meat and plantain.
