Years ago @jasoneskenazi asked me to contribute to the Americans List book, where I had to choose a favorite picture from The Americans. I chose the hotel window in Butte, but it could have been many others. Tonight I’m staying in the same room that Robert occupied in Butte in 1955. It’s kind of geeky, but I’m kind of a geek.
I descended into the Great Basin today to an array of flying saucer-shaped clouds. It was marvelous and I fantasized that they were here to save humanity. If only.
