‘DANCING ON THE WALL’
by MUNA | @whereismuna
May 08, 2026
[39:56]
Off the back of breakout hit “Silk Chiffon,” MUNA reintroduced themselves as queer, capital-P pop stars on their third, self-titled album in 2022. Though a bit disjointed, the record was a success and MUNA was finally as big as they claimed to be on their second album, ‘Saves the World’. Their fourth album, on the other hand, sees the self-described “queer joy mini-skirt rollerblade” band paint with darker strokes and angstier themes. Desire is still top of mind for the trio—desire for affection, desire for sex—yet, here, it comes with warning signs and should’ve-beens. They get political (“Big Stick”), jealous (“Girl’s Girl”), and always sapphic, MUNA still never swaying from queer joy. If pop music has gotten decidedly gayer since 2022, this album proves why MUNA are the forebears.
RIYL: Holly Humberstone / MARIS / Robyn

SAVAGE, TOO
April 02, 2026
[34:28]
The vape hit correctly at work and this little playlist came out of me in roughly 15 minutes. Sometimes they do that, they show up fully formed and already complete. In the case of ‘Savage, Too,’ my most recent playlist, the vibe is elastic dirge, similar to Mk.gee’s now famous —— and oft-replicated —— sound on his seminal album, ‘Two Star & The Dream Police.’ Here, his mangled take on 80’s schmaltz and murky production is blown out to wider expanses and more succinct songs. It’s a dreamy sound like nothing else, yet it feels so familiar.
