When a true artist ventures outside of their comfort zone, magic can happen. Poet Thunda Khatt does just that on her first release featuring rapping alongside her well-known spoken word prowess. SWAMPRAT’s lowkey beats and a feature from R&B wonder PINK i creates a throwback ‘90s vibe to the proceedings. But don’t let the easygoing beats fool you, as this Khatt’s verses scratch and draw blood on songs like “Coming Where I’m From” and the title track. If you didn’t already know the sharpness of Thunda Khatt’s pen before this tape, get ready to feel it stab deep.

SWAMPRAT x ROK10 - ROKRAT
Unless you are afraid of laidback beats, lush samples and a powerful team-up, there is no reason to fear the impeccable ROKRAT. The product of two beatmakers with their own distinctive style and feel, SWAMPRAT and ROK10 come together to create deliciousness befitting a tape loaded with song titles like “Chicken Alfredo” and “Ice Cream Sandwich.” Neither side of the equation steps on the others’ toes, creating a work that feels genuinely different than other offerings by either individual. SWAMPRAT - “Sketches”
Where do all the old soul and R&B records go when they die? If they’re lucky, their ghosts get to haunt the electric beats of producer SWAMPRAT. Over the eleven tracks on “Sketches,” SWAMPRAT plays the painter, throwing a vivid rainbow of beats over a canvas of vocal samples and split-second vinyl rips, creating a sonic tapestry of musical discovery. Far from a slapdash collection of leftovers, “Sketches” shows SWAMPRAT in idyllic creator mode with the entire library of recorded music at his fingertips.

Had a sampling session with Justin aka @meltdown_hbg the other day, here's one of the beats we made. (The audio was not recorded live with the video) Justin has an unbelievable vinyl collection (as you can see in the background), so we used some albums from his personal collection.
Along with having an incredible personal collection, Justin also sells records (and other physical media) as @meltdown_hbg at events around the region. Give him a follow to see when you can catch him next!
As part of the pre-order campaign for the Thunda Breathing Vinyl, we had different tiers that came with different extras, and for the Patron of the Arts Tier, we offered special extras, including a sampling session.
