Formed at the end of 2020 in the grayness of the river banks from which the band takes its name, Deûle depicts our existential wandering in the constant strain of our urban lives. The gray, foggy and threatening city is the backdrop for this wandering, embodied here by the city of Lille, from which Deûle draws its inspiration and imagery. Deûle plays Synth Doom, a dark Noise Rock with strong Black Metal, Indus and Doom accents, with a sound shaped by weirdo synths and synthetic bass. The strident guitar and drums, topped off with electronics and cymbals, create a sound overhung by a voice that ranges from fragility to heartbreak and madness.

Sunwell is a Lille-based project exploring a fragile space where saturation meets delicacy, where light emerges through ruin.
With I’m Looking at the Light, Sunwell weaves a sound both airy and dense: ethereal shoegaze guitars unfolding into luminous layers, driven by cold, repetitive post-industrial drum machines. At its core, a soft, almost spectral voice drifts through the compositions like a fragile thread — distant, yet deeply human.
The album resonates with the expansive melancholy of Jesu and the raw introspection of Planning for Burial, while maintaining a singular identity rooted in a constant tension between abrasion and solace.
I’m Looking at the Light attempts to capture what remains after the collapse: a glimmer, a breath, a fragile form of consolation.
Led by a member of Deûle and Ladeûlas, Sunwell extends here a more intimate and introspective sonic approach.
Out on April 10 on CD, co-released by Arsenic Solaris, Araki Records and Stellar Frequencies.
Limited edition of 200 copies, presented in a 3-panel digipack with a booklet including the lyrics.

Originally from Lille, Sunwell is a musician with a diverse background, involved in various projects such as Deûle, Death By Fog, Ladeûlas, Anastaise, Songe Creux, Otto Ruth, and Brutal Beatnik. As a solo artist, she chooses anonymity, appearing on stage faceless, veiled in black, allowing the music to become her sole anchor.
In this chosen twilight, she conjures guitar loops with shifting textures and ethereal vocals, weaving a spectral landscape where melodies seem to float. It is above all an accepted and serene melancholy, where dreams surface and dissolve, attempting to open a passage to the sensations of love and hope.
Her debut album "I'm looking at the light" is out since November 11th. A CD version will be available; we'll announce it very soon!

Za aliasem Sunwell najdete francouzskou multiinstrumentalistku Elyi, která je součástí plejády místních experimentálních kapel (Deûle, Death By Fog, Ladeûlas, Otto Ruth, Brutal Beatnik, Anastaise nebo Songe-Creux), jejichž stylový rozptyl je řádný. Zde se ale poprvé realizuje sólově a na debutu připomene již zmíněné dámy jako Rundle či Wolfe, aniž by bezduše opakovala stejné vzorce. Sama se žánrově vetkla do klíčových slov folk/doom/gaze, přičemž překvapí, jak vyzrále a autenticky její tvorba působí, zvlášť pokud má jít v zásadě o gotické love songy. Jeden z mnoha důkazů, jak je frankofonní scéna opomíjená, potažmo nedoceněná.
LUCY KRUGER & THE LOST BOYS @lucy_kruger is an art-pop tender-noise band defined by their openness to sonic transformation. Formed in 2015 by frontwoman Lucy Kruger – a South African-born singer-songwriter and guitarist – the project took on its distinctively ephemeral shape after relocating to Berlin in 2018.
While inherently mercurial and in favour of collaborative freedom, the band anchors its sound firmly between the restraint of introspection and the rawness of release. Years of touring and recording have forged a shared visceral language – one that knows exactly when to hush and when to howl. Their trajectory, from the quiet solitude of bedroom recordings to the rich, often feral energy of the stage, reflects a commitment not just to the evolution of their sound, but to its sensation, emotional presence, and the body’s unrelenting need to speak.
For the past six years, with a signature grit and grace, Kruger’s voice has traversed walls of ambient noise, deftly weaving whispers and guttural invocations alike through a sonically haunted post-punk terrain. Her sonorous duality lends both softness and ferocity to the defiant sound producing a feeling that is both vulnerable and charged.

Mit ihrem neuen Album „Sécheresse“ präsentiert sie eine Sammlung von Songs, die Elemente traditioneller französischer Musik mit avantgardistischer Poesie und vielen experimentierfreudigen Ideen verbinden.
