Motherhood gave my life a kind of love I never knew I needed. Watching them grow, hearing their little voices, feeling their love, and knowing I get to be the one they call “mom” is a blessing I never take for granted. From the little moments to the biggest milestones, they’ve become the most beautiful part of me. No title could ever mean more than being their safe place, their comfort, and the person they look for first. Everything I do carries a little more purpose because of them. They see the wins… but they have NO idea what it took to get here. It’s #ThrowbackThursday, and I just want to take a moment to brag on my growth a little. Some of y’all are new here and don’t know my full story—other than that I do hair. God has allowed me to work for myself since I was 18 years old, but let me just say… I didn’t always have these followers, and I didn’t always have all these clients. I literally built this from the ground up by myself. I always had the vision! I’ve taught so, so many stylists and naturally gave out so much game along the way. Back then, not many people were doing frontals or closures—especially not the way I was—because they were still new. Everybody knew StylesByMarie 😭 I’ve done so much in this industry: teaching, creating products, hosting online classes, opening salons, running two six-figure businesses, pop-up shops… literally everything 😭 All while becoming a mom of two in the middle of it all. But 2022–2023 were my WORST years as a hairstylist. I literally hit rock bottom. Going from being fully booked all the time to having NO clients at all downsizing my home, my car & my shop was scary and humbling. That experience really changed me. I wanted to get a job so bad I just knew doing hair was over for me! To every client who has ever sat in my chair, bought hair from me, supported me, or allowed me to teach or mentor them in any way—THANK YOU. Whether you still come to me or not, I truly appreciate you. With all that being said… I will be REBRANDING very soon & this time it’ll be a little different😚 so stay tuned and thanks for the continuous support. I LOVE Y’ALL looking back that 16 yr old girl who was doing hair in her room would be SO PROUD OF ME NOW! 🥹🫶🏾
