Driven by a deep passion for house music, his journey through the genre has led him to explore countless subgenres, each influencing the way he approaches his sound and storytelling behind the decks. For this set, he focuses on one of his favorite fusions — blending deep tech grooves with raw acid elements. The result is a hypnotic journey filled with rolling basslines, infectious rhythms, and acid-infused textures designed to keep listeners locked in from beginning to end. Houston-based DJ JenB (Jennifer Bajorek) has been part of the city’s underground electronic scene-since the mid-’90s—starting as a promoter before ever touching the decks. She co-produced Return to the Source with her sister DJ Siren, helping shape Houston’s early rave culture. With roots in trance, drum & bass, electro, and breaks, she later toured the West Coast with the Spiral Tribe Sound System USA, playing from Portland to San Francisco and into the Southern California desert—bringing that raw energy back to Houston. She went on to hold residencies in some of the city’s most iconic LGBTQ+ dance spaces, where the dance floor is more than music—it’s community. Her sound now moves between house, tech house, breaks, and hip-hop, layered with disco, funk, Latin rhythms, blues, and classic ’80s energy—vocal-driven, genre-fluid, and built for the floor. Now co-owner of CKC Event Productions with her wife, Tina, JenB is channeling decades of experience into building something of her own—supporting local talent and bringing global artists to Houston on their custom Void Acoustics sound system, delivering a sound that’s as powerful as the culture behind it. Drop Joe Dismal’s name in any dark, dank, laser-lit room and brace yourself for the adoration that’s sure to happy-dance its way out the mouths of babes and DJs alike. Dripping with the charismatic likeness of Sam Elliott, the elusive Dismal seduces the freaks of the night with the devil’s techno. The Houston native was once resident of now defunct afterhours club VIA and a regular at famed Jet Lounge. He’s played for Nothing But Techno and the Proton warehouse crew in Dallas, as well as for the former VAGABOND collective at renowned Plush in Austin. Dismal’s production work thus far includes collaborations “The Drive Home” (Sex On Wax, 2014), and “Silently Unseen” (Mynt Music, 2009), and solo effort “Summon Th’ Deuce” (Slanted Black Records, 2011). This episode features Houston’s own Baby Hands, a sonic curator who brings a sophisticated, hypnotic energy to the decks. Known for a sound that bridges progressive indie house and bass-driven grooves, she crafts an immersive experience defined by jumpy basslines, warm builds, and a meticulous approach to melodic layering. Her background in contemporary art deeply informs her presence in the booth; as the creative force behind RUBY Projects and the LaRucheHTX residency, she applies a curator’s eye to her sets. This results in a performance focused on pacing, spatial awareness, and emotional tension—shifting seamlessly from immersive textures into her signature controlled, quietly charged club energy. It is a fluid session that perfectly blends the intellectual depth of the gallery world with the raw, high-energy grit of the underground. Doctor Guava (Houston, Texas) is a selector rooted in the city’s underground, known for left-field house, dusty textures, and low-slung grooves that sit just outside the obvious. Repping Couchloaf Records and the ODA crew, his sound is patient and intentional, focused on feel over flash. A regular on Ice House Radio and at The Flat, he’s built a reputation for reading rooms without forcing them, letting tracks breathe and transitions unfold naturally. This hour-long mix leans into the deeper end, pulling cuts that don’t always make the floor but define the atmosphere. Expect slow builds, warm saturation, and a steady groove that rewards close listening. If you’re rocking with the session, like the video, subscribe, and share it with a friend. This episode features Houston’s own Just Vi, a rising powerhouse who brings a magnetic and genre-blurring sound that transcends borders. Known for her high-profile residencies and an intuitive ability to read any crowd, Vi crafts an immersive musical journey that is as global as it is emotionally charged. She opens the set in a haze of global house elegance that feels warm, transportive, and deeply atmospheric. From there, she drifts into soul-stirring melodic layers before eventually settling into her signature swaggy tech house grooves. Drawing on the same energy that has seen her support international icons like TOKiMONSTA, HoneyLuv, and Cedric Gervais, the result is a fluid, high-energy session that perfectly blends nostalgic euphoria with modern underground grit.
