Thank you to everyone who came to our Pits and Perverts anniversary event at the start of the month!
We’ve finally been able to calculate our final figure of £1511.73 raised for Unite Port Talbot strike fund, Cwtches to Gaza (@cwtchestogaza2024 ), and @glittercymru !
On top of the amazing sum of money raised, coming together as a community for a night of solidarity and remembrance of our collective struggle was so special. We heard from Jonathan Blake of LGSM, Dai Donovan of the NUM, Jason Wyatt from the TATA Steel strikers, and Palestinian-Italian writer Dr Sabrin Hasbun. One key takeaway from all the speakers was that we are nothing if not united.
Thank you to all our performers, volunteers, and Chapter staff for helping create such a beautiful day. From laughing to drag kings, crying to the choir’s rendition of Bread and Roses, to dancing the night away to great DJ set. We feel so lucky!
We’re now off to get some much needed rest, but we can’t wait to do this again with you, in some way, someday in the (hopefully not too far) future.
