“The Army Of God: The Return of the Far Right in Europe” - A @progettohappiness reportage 🇵🇱
On the occasion of Italy’s Liberation Day (25th April), we return with a reportage born from within one of the most disturbing contexts in contemporary Europe: the Polish extreme far right. In Warsaw, among slogans such as “God, Homeland, Identity,” hatred toward refugees, and paramilitary groups ready to defend the border by any means necessary, we infiltrated this world to document it from up close. Not to support it, but to expose its ideologies, fears, and contradictions without filters.

I took these photos last April in what is considered the largest electronic waste dump in Africa. The child you see holding a phone is one of many who search through the trash hoping to find something valuable.

That same trash he’s digging through is ours.

Among the endless piles of broken phones lies our old smartphone, the one we threw away. This happens because Western governments sell their electronic waste to developing countries, turning entire communities into victims of an unfair system.

To answer these questions, we went to Agbogbloshie, in Ghana: the largest electronic waste dump in the world. A place that looks like it came out of a dystopian film, but is all too real.
Here, every day, thousands of men, women, and children live, and survive, by dismantling electronic waste from the West with their bare hands.
No protection. No alternatives. Breathing toxic fumes, walking on burnt plastic, searching for metals to sell for just a few coins.
But this is not just a story about pollution. It is a story of injustice, of blind consumption, and of a global system that offloads its cost onto the shoulders of the most vulnerable.
