“Home is my bed, my creative space and community: my family and my partner… and right now nothing is really in the same place. Home has multiplied and expanded as I’ve gotten older. When I was young, home was Indiana - where I grew up and where my family still lives. Then home became (and always will be) New York; where I actually grew up, spread my roots and my wings and found a creative community and friendships to last a lifetime. New York and I are in a long distance relationship and I’ve been resting my head in Northern Virginia for the past year.
I spend my days trying to find balance between my creative brain and my resting brain, a balance between work and life. It’s been helpful to live somewhere a bit quieter, since my default is to overbook and go, which is the culprit of some major anxiety. So I’ve spent this past year (forcible and by choice) attempting to unravel that a bit.”

“I spend my days indulging in long, thoughtful mornings with coffee, music and a journal or book- sketching, writing and sculpting new worlds in which to create new films and dances. Then I spend my day in the dance studio, moving a bit, taking a ballet class, then thinking and exploring some movement through long, mundane improvs that **might** lead to a seed worth planting and growing. I’d then spend some time making a beautiful lunch to share with those I’m with. I love a good nap, I love waking up from said nap with sun pouring in from the window above my bed. After this I’ll do a bit more work and spend some time outside or with friends, seeing art or live music, eating and drinking.
…of course this idyllic day never happens as a whole, but you can find me chasing some semblance of this everyday.”
