i've been digesting just how amazing saturday was, thank you sooooo much to everyone that came down to the first SLY DIG'S SWEATBOX and made it so special <3 <3 <3 you cant capture it on videos really but here is a taste of the night. i think my favourite description of the sauna/djs combo so far is unhinged (on brand?), and i dont think i could have imagined the impeccable vibes everyone brought. amazing people and amazing tunes <3 Thanks to the incredible artists who soundtracked the entire event perfectly @loumcleanmusic , @anu_makes_noise , @mairi_b_pots , @nameseyve , @claz402 . Thanks @portavibe_hi_fi for supplying such a sweet rig and @kylewilson.p for setting up and running all the sound and tech and being very chill. Thanks to everyone at @soulwatersauna for being amazing hosts and making the night so special, and thank you to @thepittmarket for facilitating, with @howie.edi and @kirstie helping with planning support for months. @acidraindeer made incredible decorations and @faedorcha generously supplied the tea urn. and thank you finally to the weather, which threatened to blow everything away but decided to be very nice to us instead. stay tuned for the next SLY DIG FLINTA* event, probably in jan/feb :)

We promise to keep your body moving and your brain melting, with experimental jams and genre bending performances. Hidden beyond the Landing Stage, inside the Castle’s walled gardens, the Plaisance is a sanctuary of rare plants and ancient trees (including two incredible 1,500-year-old yews). second spotlight for not waiting on 21 may at @peoples.leisure.club , 7 - 10 is the magnificent @elleesaich (no introductions needed) Lauren Sarah Hayes is a Scottish improviser, sound artist, and scholar who is recognised for her embodied approach to computer music. Her music is a mix of experimental pop/live electronics/techno/noise/free improvisation and has been described as "voracious" and "exhilarating". Her performances stretch, transform, and sculpt sound by manipulating, remixing, and bending voice, drum machines, analogue synths and self-built software live and physically. Her shows are highly gestural, exploring the ephemeral and fragile relationships between sounds, spaces, and audiences. First artist spotlight for Not Waiting on 21 May at @peoples.leisure.club is the furiously talented and enigmatic BELL LUNGS Taking a freewheeling, magpie attitude to ambient, noise, free improvisation, psychedelia, jazz, post-rock, minimalism and folk, her music creates subtly shifting sound worlds drawing on natural cycles, environmental disaster and the microcosmic aspects of relationships. A vaguely obsessive instrument collector, she integrates vocals, strings, keys, tuned percussion and woodwinds into lushly textured layers and loops. However, it is her vocal mastery which is most striking, a resonant instrument acting as a conduit for the emotions, described in reviews as “disarming” and “vaulting”. She loves to tour, and has performed widely across Europe.
