Presenting Frame the City 📸 an immersive art walk through New York featuring the work of photographer @_skylar.dng
Born in Pennsylvania and now based in New York, Skylar is a portrait photographer and graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Photography and Related Media.
His work has been featured in FIT’s Unseen Memory junior show, Thresholds senior exhibition at the FIT Museum Gallery, and with Monadnyc.
Skylar’s photography draws on storytelling to bridge the contrasts between his upbringing in a small town in Pennsylvania and his life in New York City, as well as personal reflections on growing up in an older family.
Through a customized route designed for this walk, Skylar will guide participants in experiencing the city as he does—where stories of memory, identity, and place unfold against the backdrop of New York City
Join in the walk for free or purchase tickets, available TOMORROW for your chance to win prizes and a spot of our Gallery show this Fall.

For this project I wanted to highlight Black Men and Women artist and their art forms. As a white male artist I will never understand the impact their art has on their community. Wether they are photographers, painters, architects, they have a talent and a vision that others don’t have. I wanted to shed light on what makes them who they are and how they got to where they are at in life.
