Day 1 - Year 8.
8 whole years of marriage that @ginnie_weasley has put up with my shit and my beard.
I couldn't imagine doing this life and growing up thing without you. We've definitely lived through our vows. Through the health, the sickness, the rich (eh not really) and the poor we continue to grow as a couple, raise our family and still find time for each other.
We might be in a heatwave but this day 8 years ago was the hottest day ever (see my see through shirt) and we still had the best wedding! I love you babe and cheers to many more years!
It's been a busy motorsports filled past month. I capped it off with a trip to Pocono Raceway for the SCCA Time Trials. While I didn't compete I did do the HPDE on Saturday. This was my second time at this course and I was happy to improve on my lap times (by 1.5 seconds), carry more speed and put some more trust and confidence in myself and the car.

The Golf R did amazing. Even with some brake fade and coolant temps creeping up the car stayed planted and kept pulling lap after lap. This car was made for this!

I'm taking the summer off from the track so it's time to play around with getting some more airflow to the brakes and keeping the coolant temps steady. Gotta get everything ready for @fastivus in October.

Proud doesn't even begin to explain the feelings right now. It seems like just yesterday when Ginnie had us meet for the first time at a Harlem Globetrotters game. I knew your situation and I knew one day you'd be with us. I'm so glad I got a hand in raising you to be the man you are today. Sometimes I am too hard on you but even though we're not blood I see a lot of me at your age in you. I know what you're capable of and there is no limit to that. Congratulations on earning that diploma and I can't wait to be beside you through your next endeavor. I love ya bud!

The R is apart so I can fix the shifter mishap from my last track day. Then a little maintenance and we're ready to go.

So it looks like the season isn't over yet! SCDA has one final event at NJMP this Sunday. With a long winter ahead and the forecast looking great I'm taking advantage of it. Who else is coming out? 12-4 on Sunday at Lightning. Give the cars a few last laps before hibernation!

Happy 20k miles GTI! Still can't believe this is the first GTI I've ever owned. It's fun, it's different and people always comment on it. Of course it's got some of the quirky VW first year issues (still has a phantom DSG leak we're trying to figure out) but I think this one will be sticking around for a while. Especially since I spent the weekend applying @shinesupply ceramic coating to the entire car. Cheers to many more miles!
