Samek Artist Residency at the UK’s first circular denim hub, @laundre_uk . Exploring what it looks like to create a ripple effect in the denim industry.
Will share a deep dive into what went down across the week very soon but for today, thank you Salli and the team for letting me come and explore, re work and give another life to discarded denim. This team is beyond incredible and such an honour to work with.
Developed a new love for denim in this process… and yes also for laundry, turns out it’s actually a lot of fun, especially when they let you get in the dryer.

About the Artist
Omar, also known as Baby O, is a British-Lebanese poet currently based in London. Growing up with dyslexia and ADHD, he faced significant challenges in articulating his emotions through conventional means.
However, poetry became his sanctuary, a powerful outlet for confronting inner struggles, exploring his bicultural identity, and channeling the anger and pain rooted in his past.
His work explores a range of themes, from political commentary and a profound connection to nature to the relentless pursuit of personal growth.
Drawing inspiration from diverse influences, including hip-hop and contemporary poetry that defies traditional structures. Omar’s unique voice weaves together raw emotion, cultural duality, and a profound yearning for transformation.
