Calling all readers! Mansi Dahal’s Women in Marigold is available for presale now! A powerful and luminous debut from Waletzky Fellowship poet Mansi Dahal. The fifty-one poems of Women in Marigold evoke both global and intimate concerns, as Dahal meditates on themes of displacement, feminine ambition, diverging identities, and the guilt of leaving loved ones behind. For the cover of Women in Marigold, Mansi reached out to the amazing photographer, Tirtha Lawati, whose photograph was a cover for Vogue India in 2022. Lawati’s other work can be viewed on Instagram @tirtharabinlawati and . Palika Rae Sridurongrit, the cover designer for Women in Marigold, is a 2026 graduating senior at George Mason. When asked about the cover design creation, Sridurongrit said, “I decided to expand Tirtha Lawati’s photograph to create more empty space surrounding the picture. It guides the reader’s eye towards the central image, and it creates a liminal yet calming atmosphere.” Mansi Dahal is a writer from Biratnagar, Nepal, and a graduate of Columbia University’s MFA program, where she was awarded the Waletzky Fellowship from the School of the Arts for her distinguished work. Her writing has been featured in POETRY, New England Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Southeast Review, Copper Nickel, Colorado Review, Tupelo Press, Palette Poetry, and elsewhere. Her poem “What the Eye Chooses to See” was nominated by Copper Nickel for inclusion in the Best New Poets anthology, while her poem “Doll-House” was recognized as a finalist for Palette Poetry’s 2022 Sappho Prize. Poets & Writers selected her as one of their poetry fellows for the 2026 “Get the Word Out” publicity incubator program. Mansi holds a BA in English with a concentration in Media and Film Studies from Kalamazoo College. She served as the editor-in-chief of Some Kind Of Opening and splits her time between New York and Nepal. Women in Marigold will release on September 22, 2026! A year in review of one of the biggest and happiest years of my life. I completed my Masters in nonfiction. I got published in 4 different magazines. I moved out of Brooklyn and to the Hudson Valley to be with the love of my life after 2 years of long-distance. I got back into theater after 7 years of not performing. My mom and her partner moved 2 hours away from me. I went to Japan for the first time. I had so many adventures with my friends across New York and Poughkeepsie. I spent a lot of time writing alongside the most brilliant people. I ate SO MUCH good food (move in with an aspiring chef, I recomend it). I read 106 books. I've never been more greatful; I've never been more in love; I've never felt such peace. Here's to the best year yet, and here's to a new year of friends, art, love, joy, and writing, writing, writing. Hopefully, there will be a completed book by the end of it 👀
