Celebrating my 30th birthday today 🥳 It’s been a wild journey so far - the last few years especially feel like a blur. Starting @bad_listener.wav with my closest friends and family led to so many amazing moments and opportunities that I never expected. Endlessly grateful that I got to play at some of the most legendary venues in the city with my b2b / life partner @steph__who and I’m super proud that I have been able to use my talents in art and music to create opportunities for my friends and other artists in the community. I’ve been taking a light break from DJing and making content to collect my thoughts and feelings over the last few months. The fruit of this period of reflection has been a renewed sense of confidence and trust in my abilities, and a better sense of boundaries around my energy and attention. With that being said, I think it’s time for a refresh. Moving forward, I’m putting my focus back on making music and performing. I’m going to start releasing more content around that, sharing my process and showcasing my works in progress. I’m also just feeling a bit done with “DJ Her Boyfriend”. I originally came up with the name around 2019 for a specific project that didn’t end up seeing the light of day and then i sort of just stuck with it once I started getting back into DJing. Over time it felt more and more like a gimmick and I just want to show up more authentically now. So from here on out, I’m gonna just be me and release music under the name “Robert!” I’m proud to present my first EP under the new name: “Dance Works”, a collection of 4 tracks that I feel are some of my best work to date. I got at least two other EPs ready to fire off soon! Link in bio! Also I want to start collabing more - hit me up if you wanna work!
