Out of town dj set sa may kubo over der. Live from Morong Bataan. Testing the “Rico Disco Sound system” na may 3D printed multicelluar horns by @stein_horns .Inspired by the Altec A5 or any of the 4 sound systems I love that I have listened to really basta may horn! Hmmm Yeah summer mix will be out soon sa inyong suking tindahan. E.g. YouTube at soundcloud.
Special thanks to Tito Jerry of @eastwestbeachresort for hosting me for 2 hours and 30 mins.
Recent obsession. 120w ChiFi full range speakers with a 80w compression driver on top attached to a multicelluar horn by @stein_horns . The two just melts with each other very subtle highs and just enough to add some shimmer. Clear and not harsh just like I want it to. Currently running directly from the amp with just a 2.2uf capacitor. I’m yet to make one to have it only run on 2 channels instead of 4. This was inspired by the Altec A5, OTO’s sound iconic horn speakers and the waarphole sound system all of which I love the sound of. But Yeah this is the budget version of it and it makes me Happy. Also running this on a NAT integrated amp Ads a But of warmth which I also love.

First pair of “Chi-Fi” (Chinese hi-fi). I bought these on Facebook Marketplace out of curiosity. They’re pretty nicely built, and the speakers have big magnets. The center of the speaker isn’t actually a tweeter it’s just a design element. I think these would sound better if they had a small horn tweeter mounted on top, which I’m currently on the hunt for. Maybe a 20 watt tweeter would do, since the speakers are rated at 120 watts per speaker.
There are no crossovers inside, but that’s not really a surprise since they use a whizzer cone in the middle to produce some mid to high frequencies. Even so, the highs are still lacking, so I think they really need a proper tweeter.
