Ahh, the days of Need for Speed Underground 2. I can still remember playing this game for hours in high school. Definitely one of the main sources of my passion for modifying cars.
If they ever remake Most Wanted I will be sure to buy it, that was peak Need for Speed.
On a related note, I pre-ordered Tokyo Extreme Racer 2025. That game was the ultimate 2000's street racing experience. Nothing like imagining you're part of the Midnight Club speeding down the Wangan. February can't come soon enough.
Battery location project is 95% complete.
Shout out to @smeedia_and his YouTube video that I followed to get this project done. It is something that I put off for a long time, the hood vents kind of forced me to do it. His video is basically step by step on how to do this and it helped tremendously.
Also a shout out to my oldest son as I was only able to get the base plate I ordered from Amazon for the Optima battery bolted into place with his help. Couldn't have reached the bolts from the top and the nuts at the bottom at the same time so I literally couldn't have done it without him. He even at one point said, "I like this, it's fun" and I may or may not have shed a tear.
I then decided to put the rest of the trunk back in and I now have a decision to make: do I cut the carpet or leave the baseplate onto the carpet and drill holes into carpet so the battery can sit on top of the carpet?
Decisions, decisions.
Ain't no rest for anyone who works on a Subaru.
I know I've spent more than my fair share of time in the garage working on this, through the engine build, 6-speed swap, or various other smaller installs.
Sometimes fiddling around in the garage is fun and goes super well, other times I shouldn't be in there at all and I'd be more productive banging my head against the wall.
It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.
I did the thing.
S Craft S12B hood vents installed.
Took quite a bit of work but you know the old saying, "Measure 17 times, cut once".
I've never done any type of body work so I have to say I'm pretty proud of how these turned out.
I know I might not have got them lined up 100% perfect with the angled bevel to sit flat but they look good enough for me.
Now the question every car guy asks once they're done with a project, "What's next?".
