So excited that my EP 《Nature Resonance》be released in Oslated! which features five originals and an incredible remix by two of my favorite producers, Hironori Takahashi and @theasllan These tracks keep conveying my understanding of nature, light, energy and beauty. They’re traveling through time and space, and guiding our minds into a natural landscape to embark on a journey. There are harmonies of the wind blowing the leaves, the flowing river, the insect chirping and all kinds of elements from the nature worship of primitive tribes, that’s animism and endless sound life. I just returned to Shanghai after a happy trip. I went to Gyeongju as planned, stayed for a short time, and experienced a different landscape. Thanks to @comarobot from @volnostseoul for the invitation. The sound system was incredible, and everyone’s music was wonderful. The sounds of marine life and the frequencies of the ocean depths, each time I listen, feel like receiving signals from another world. I have never reached there; everything is based on frequencies, everything stems from imagination. Rainsoft is a musician and dj based in Shanghai. She acquire inspiration from deep ambient and techno music. Exploring herself and sound by her spiritual sensation. Her music is calm, gentle with dynamic and fluctuated vibe. Subtle thoughts lied low in every notes. She cares more about expressing deeper thoughts through music, and pursuing an infinity in between beginning and development. Rainsoft’s debut vinyl Echoes From Afar, released in 2022 by the Chinese label bié Records, weaves emotional tension and softness into a bass-driven techno framework. Drawing inspiration from the movement of clouds and water outside her window, the album reflects a deep contemplation of her surroundings. Following its release, she was invited to contribute remixes and original singles to a number of labels, including China’s GSXS, Indefinite Pitch, and Jyugam; South Korea’s Oslated; Berlin-based Diffuse Reality; Latin America’s Shika Shika; and the UK’s Intersum. Her 2024 EP Nature Resonance, also released on Oslated, continues to explore her artistic vision, channeling her understanding of nature, light, energy, and beauty into sound. Rainsoft is an active presence in China’s electronic music scene. She has performed alongside international artists such as Neel, Peter Van Hoesen, and Sunju Hargun, and has been featured at major festivals including Strawberry Music Festival and Donghai Music Festival. Her mixes have been showcased on global online platforms like Mixmag and Oslated. In addition to her work as a performer and producer, Rainsoft engages in interdisciplinary collaborations through soundtracks and visual projects. So happy to contribute an mix for two of my favorite music spaces in Shanghai — the local radio station @byyb.radio and the listening bar @wigwam.live . These are two music scenes in Shanghai that mean a lot to me. In this mix, I gathered sounds from the Dong people, an ethnic minority group from Guizhou, China, as well as voices from the Kogi people, Indigenous to faraway Colombia. I also included many ambient, dub tracks that I personally love. Through music, I try to connect different parts of the world, and I’m sharing this mix with you from the heart.
