The Racecourse
Sligo is not kind to the unprepared. On this day, this fact was reminded to us. All my rain enthusiasm could not protect us from the unrelenting downpour. It was stunning, but we had a Snapshot to do.
And so, pedal to the metal, we did just that.
The Racecourse has a fine view, one that makes clear scale of Benbulben, sprawling around the town. Sligo and its iconic landscapes are inextricably tied, a fact made apparent in places like these.

Hazelwood Forest
The forests of Sligo are dwindling. Their primal natural state has been tamed, their secrets now common knowledge. And yet, their presence within Sligo's culture remains prevalent.
Sligo was birthed from an expanse of trees, in its ancient past. Deciduous foliage spread, border to border, river to river. I often wish I could have seen Sligo in that state. I feel I would have liked it.

Peace Park
Today, our perilous campaign led us to venture into Sligo's deepest sanctum - Peace Park.
Its reputation is far reaching. Existing within its walls is a curious dichotomy between serenity and mortal peril. The whisperings of the glade's true, ironic nature had on many occasions kept me cautiously distant from it.
This apprehension was revealed to be largely unnecessary, as was foretold by the ever-wise @olufemiabosede3 .
