The books that changed everything always came from someone else. A title passed between friends. A passage read out loud over drinks. Muntpunt asked queer organizations, collectives, and individuals from Brussels and beyond to share theirs. The result is a new curated collection, available in the library from May 5. On May 7, we celebrate. An evening of readings, conversation, film, performance, and free food. With Bebe Books, Brussels Ass Book Fair, Deno Vogelaers, Dyke* March Brussels, Jezebel Studio, Johannes Cools, Queers on the Move, RoSa, Shabbes 24/7, Sophia, and Susan from Grindr. 📅 Thursday 7 May • 18:00 – 23:00 • Muntpunt ℹ️ Free. Most activities require registration, link in bio.

@amrsarchives.jpg , @moonlitlayla & @sarahkadry_ will be conversing on how telling stories have been intrinsic mechanisms of resilience for queer bodies on the move. The narratives we tell ourselves, and others, shape how we recall our past, how we live in the present, and contribute to our future. Come join us on the 7th of May and get yourself a copy. « They want us out » is a deeply personal, rage-fueled response to the nightmare of migration paperwork, wrapped in humour and honesty. Whether you’re wading through visa forms, confronting hostile communes, or simply trying to survive as a queer body in a system not built for you, this book doesn’t promise magic. But it will hand you clarity, context, and community. « They want us out » is not just about staying in the queendom; it’s about resisting erasure with every page.

Printed, passed around, retold, and nearly lost before being published. A rare peek into life in Baghdad in 2005‑06, seen through the eyes of ordinary Iraqis under occupation - the side of the story the West rarely shows. 20. 01 reading hangout 27.01 reading hangout 17.02 discussion DM to be on the list. - Queer Bookclub is a queer-facilitated discussion group dedicated to reading literature by authors whose experiences and perspectives have been traditionally excluded from mainstream narratives, with a focus on authors from the Global South. With a lack of sober spaces in Bxl, the idea is to create weekly meet-ups for us to meet, discuss, and connect.

Op 28 januari presenteert Poppers Fairy het debuut They Want Us Out.
