Plovers doesn't belong to the three of us anymore; it's yours now. Use it responsibly.

Our debut record is called Fear the Man Who Hides in Light, and it's out on vinyl and digital on 1 August.
Today's a big day. We started making this record all the way back in May 2021 after writing a bunch of it during the pandemic. Despite better intentions It took us nearly two and a half years to finish, and we couldn't be prouder of how it turned out. We can't wait for you to hear the full thing.
Putrid Thoughts is on it, which released today to every streaming platform you can think of. You'll hear more songs before release, but trust us when we say that the full thing is going to melt your goddamn face off. It's a furiously political record that spans the distance between catchy post-hardcore, demented dance punk, and ~spoiler alert~ but the last track is basically sludge metal. You're gonna love it.
Vinyl pre-orders are live now on our bandcamp, but stock is limited so get your copy before we sell out.
Peace n luv ✌️ 🤘

#2 Fear the Man Who Hides in Light
This is rock n’ roll done right - ferocious vocals, kinetic and angular riffs, massive choruses, and sharp, seething lyrics aimed squarely at our shared adversaries - racists, politicians, billionaires, social media extremists, corporations and misinformation dealers.
But this isn’t a grim or overly earnest album. Even at its angriest, moments of levity are sprinkled throughout, making the tidal wave of fury and outrage hit all the harder when it comes crashing down.
There isn’t a single weak track here, with the lyrics consistently shining as a highlight. Whether it’s the ragers or the ballads, each song lands with intensity and is performed with undeniable passion.
Honestly, it’s perfect - and yet, NO ONE seems to be talking about it.
C’mon people, do you even like music?
Sort your shit out.

📕 this week on The Good Word Crofty is chatting on the couch with his good buddy and total legend Jared from the sensational @_plovers_ (album launch + final show Saturday in the bandroom!) giving you the what’s up on what’s going down this week - be sure to hit the link, grab a ticket and we will see you at the bar 🍻
Exactly four years ago today we (Jared) went live on Instagram and played a set surrounded by dumb Windows XP-era internet memes. Dan also got naked in the bath, Margy got chased through the streets by a drone, and we premiered early versions of Unsolicited Advice, Glass Floor, and Greed.
The full thing is up now on our YouTube channel for old times sake. Chuck it on and let us know how many easter eggs you find.
Our last show is coming up fast - have you grabbed a ticket yet? Saturday 31 August is the last time to see us live before we're taken out back with the bolt gun, so don't sleep on it if you don't want to miss it.
We figured we'd raid the Plovers archives over the next little while before saying goodbye for nostalgia's sake - here's a picture from way back in 2018, featuring different haircuts, different outfits, and a different drummer. We were sweet summer babies with better teeth and a worse setlist - Camp Nope was probably played at this show. Unfortunate.

Fear the Man Who Hides in Light is now officially a full week old - thanks to everyone who's spread kind words about it both online and in person. Have you cranked it in your car as loud as it'll go yet?
Tickets to our funeral and records are still available at the link on our profile, but they're dwindling fast - grab one before they're gone

Our debut album Fear the Man Who Hides in Light is out everywhere right now.
To Fear the Man Who Hides in Light is to be wary when someone insists that they've got absolutely nothing to hide, but it's also a reminder to embrace those who show their true, flawed selves.
Hold each other accountable, work together to build for a better society, and crank this record up as loud as you can manage.
We love y'all and can't wait to hear what you think.
Jared, Margy, and Dan
