I'm proud of this one 📢!! It's been a couple years since I created a new OC and although I didn't branch out loads I still tried to include some more details than I usually would idk.. This probably won't be his final ref sheet. I need to do a proper turn around or model sheet that uses different poses but I thought this was a nice way to present the stuff that I want first!

15K Open collab results!! Thank you to everyone who entered and all those who supported the artists along the way! I can't thank you guys all enough, it's actually so crazy that we're over 20K when we started the year at 8K.. All of these entries were so cool and I really loved seeing everyone's OCs!! I definitely want to involve that a bit more one day. 1st - @celfda !! Prize: portrait or a half body! I'll DM you soon (: The next DTIYS or whatever it'll be will be at 30K and I hope to get my hands on something special as the prizes (: For now though, there's a 20K raffle! Prize = any commission type (portrait, half body, full body etc)

Robert Stahl fanart today Context for the small comic thing - In the show, Robert compares his obsession like a moth to a flame, knowing that it's too hot and could kill it but needs to fly towards it regardless. That was towards the start of his big spiral but I thought that he could be having these thoughts earlier too so that's what I've implied but it's kind of hard to draw moths going into a fire.. Show - Shades of Blue 2016 Character - Robert Stahl

A simple guide to digital brush settings! Using @ibispaint_official ! Settings may differ for different programs, including the maths behind the settings, not just the names! So they may not give the same result as I've demonstrated. Different from my usual guides but I thought it was interesting so I did it 🤷‍♂️

The calm after a storm -- Knight on his way home! I wanted to do a lot more with him but after uni I've been more burnt out than I expected! I'm happy that I managed to do some kind of environmental scene though. The snow was fun to figure out and see what brushes could be helpful!

How video games get funded (based on real dev insights!) The question we all want the answer to.. Continuation of my series of bringing student questions to real game developers. This one focuses on funding! I hope this was informative at a basic level to help people get started with where they need to look. Special thanks to Bristol Games hub again! You can find them on Meetup and there's loads of events for everyone (: -- more context about Hollowknight. I'm talking about the first game not silksong. Yes they had a kickstarter but it did not fund the entirety development. They made the game concept in 2013 before it went to kickstarter in 2014, they already had footage of potential gameplay. They published and developed the entire game themselves with their own earned money and time. A publisher did not pay them, they did not need work for hire to stay stable. They were self funded by themselves and a community they had built all themselves. Microsoft also had nothing to do with the first game and it didn't come to Xbox until a year after it's release.

Character concept art - real project breakdown! I'm excited to finally try and merge my own art into my educational content. Please let me know what you think :P Remember that uni briefs are extremely specific so there's a lot of things I did here that may not be needed for an actual industry brief. Sometimes you won't have to do a lot of these things like value studies specifically of the face, you might do value studies of the entire body instead and definitely not as detailed as that!

"I know what you are." -- LORE REMINDER -- Guest is an incomprehensible, reality-spanning entity made of pure energy with no true physical form. He feels real to his victims and thrives on deception, knowing everything about them while revealing nothing about himself. He attaches to vulnerable minds and subtly guides them toward self-destruction under the illusion of escape. The only way to break free is through self-awareness and purpose, allowing his true nature to be seen and his hold to fade. -- I've got a few more ideas for Guest coming up.. the more I draw scenes like this I think it'll get easier.

What game development looks like behind the scenes - Questions asked by students, and answered by real game developers! So much work went into this post its not even funny.. and I've got more coming soon! Huge shoutout to Bristol Games Hub for organising so many events all the time, and ones which are so beneficial to so many people! The majority of events are FREE! You just have to get a ticket from the site Meetup (: Who knows maybe you'll run into me there 👀..

The truth about the game industry - I've needed to make this post for a while and this feels like a good time with the amazing start to the year that indie games have had. I hope this is informative and covers the more positive side of the story. Now I can direct all the pessimistic commenters here so I don't have to try and explain things in a tiny comment and embarrass myself LOL.
