Each Traka has a particular flavor, like a box of chocolates, you can’t predict what happens in advance. So happy to share this so special atmosphere, to start the race in the dark night with the bros! After a beautiful loop in the mountains, this Empordà section is like The Grim Reaper, if you’re already close to jump, it’s coming to finish you off and you know there are more than 150kms to go. I digged very deep inside myself to find a comfy pace to simply move and reach the finish line with smile. Sensations were quite different this year but it’s the magic of long distance I guess. I’ll come back to experience these areas who stay in the shadows. Special mention to our luxury assistance team, which was a real game changer throughout the day for all these express refuels. Kiwi series | Final chapter 🇳🇿 This last week seems to be the perfect closing note to summarize an unforgettable trip shared with a bunch of incredible people. What I’d remember most are those simple but intense moments: hiking with nothing but the essentials for a day or two in the backpack, reaching the top of a mountain ridge soaked af after several hours of rain, to see appear a cabin out of the fog a few meters in front of you as a pure miracle. This kind of warm and dry place where to light a stove, play cards until night with some comforting drinks makes your happiness. Here, time stops to return to the basics and enjoy every moment in this endless nature. Here are some final views before officially closing this chapter, until the next one. Entre les lueurs vacillantes des frontales et le silence mordant du froid, je vois défiler des corps marqués, parfois à bout mais animés d’une détermination qui force le respect, celle de rejoindre la capitale des gones. La SaintéLyon révèle la résilience de tous ces coureurs lancés dans leur épopée singulière : des pas qui hésitent puis repartent sans jamais renoncer, des silhouettes qui se battent contre la fatigue, contre le noir, contre elles-mêmes.
