Job finished
Big congratulations goes out to the Trent men’s lacrosse team for their National Championship win.
With this being my second championship that I’ve been a part of and various work with other teams I have one piece of advice for other photographers: get close. Being able to get right into the action, when applicable/safe/appropriate, can be huge for getting super intimate and interesting shots. Emotion hits so much harder when it feels like you’re right there and getting close with a wide lens (I used my 14-35mm) does the trick.
Doesn’t get much better than championship photos!
Four-peat
Massive congratulations goes out to the Peterborough Lakers for winning the Mann Cup. It’s been a pleasure working with this group on a truly special year. Thanks to Anna for bringing me on and to the boys for showing me such a great time.
Thanks LakeShow!!
Rough stuff
Another Firewolves game night on Saturday, this time against the Roughnecks. I’m really liking the new 50mm that I got a few weeks back. It creates an added layer of depth to my shots and the low light capabilities can’t be overstated. Might have to add a few more primes to the bag over the next few years
Toronto FC v FC Cincinnati
I had the opportunity to shoot my first MLS game this Saturday at BMO field for a match between Toronto and Cincinnati. It was a beautiful day for a game and it’s going to be great seeing this venue packed for the World Cup in a few months.
Massive thanks to @seanpollock and @wakingthered for having me out!
25/26
Last Thursday marked the final game of the Petes 2025/26 season and the last game of my fifth year with the team. I want to thank the Petes for their continued support of my work. Good luck to all of the players moving on. I can’t wait to run it back in August
Super
Wrapped up March with the Firewolves and Knighthawks game down in Oshawa. Had the chance to break out a new lens that I’ve been eyeing for a while, the RF 50mm f/1.4. I’ll be relying on it to get me shots in the near dark that I have been comfortable getting in the past. Excited to see how it works in my last two NLL games of the season in April
OMHA
The i16 and u18 OMHA championships made it was to Peterborough earlier this month, showcasing some of the OHL future stars. It was great to cover an event like this in town, I love the compete and emotion that goes into minor hockey especially at these age groups.
Big thanks to @kevinsousaphoto and @ontariominorhockey for having me out
