Asides the commitment it takes to get me out of my bed after barely catching 4 hours of sleep, Sunday still remains my best day of the week. It’s the day I’m most sociable and recharged in the process rather than drained. In church, everyone is my friend. Family infact. So blessed. Scripture says in Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might”. There’s always a first time but it doesn’t have to be basic. The nature of excellence is to be extraordinary. Imagine the joy when an icon in the industry saw our pieces and didn’t stop at complimenting the beauty but also commended the neatness of our detailing. In her words, “your finishing is great”. Brethren, the hunger that was waging war against my bowels disappeared instantly. Beauty is enticing. Creativity is admirable but finishing in fashion design, I consider that the core of excellence. Thank you @prudent_gabriel for not holding back.🙏 This made my February. I had 2 weeks to put this together because I’ve wasted time trying to bamboozle God to download a mysterious idea from heaven into my brain for this project. He asked me the same question He asked Moses in Exodus 4:2 “What is that in your hand?” I remembered Elisha asked the widow the same question in 2 Kings 4:2, “what do you have in the house?” . In my own case, my resources were my iPad for sketching, Canva app, and data. Opening my sketch app, I discovered I had designed I’ve not even shown the world yet. Why wait for the new when the current hasn’t been maximized. This is how Eden was birthed. From enough. Genesis 1 & 2 is the evidence of His perfection. He made everything for Man and made Man for His delight. As a brand, we express our appreciation to @wearecedars and the entire @loveontherunway planning committee for giving us a platform like this to shine. As someone who doesn’t always have anything to wear for occasions, one of the perks of being a designer is getting to wear new clothes every time.
