Shivercast 013 - Phil Simon
@_philsimon_ is a close friend, and until now we have mostly experienced him in a club context. This makes us even more excited that he approached us with an alternative podcast. He is a DJ and producer whose sound moves freely beyond genres and eras. His sets are driven by storytelling, atmosphere and groove. With a cinematic and visual approach to music, he creates journeys that feel immersive, emotional and personal.
In this podcast, Phil set out to capture the past year with all its emotions, highs and lows, more unconsciously than consciously. Listening to it, you might feel like you can sense different seasons unfolding. This feeling is closely tied to his cinematic and graphic way of thinking, where music creates images and moods rather than following fixed structures.
The mix moves gently between ambient, Krautrock, Berlin School, electro and breakbeats, blending these elements into something that feels new and organic. Nothing feels forced or overly planned. Instead, the podcast flows naturally, inviting the listener into a slow, thoughtful journey that reveals itself over time.
This is a different side of Phil, more introspective and open, yet still deeply connected to his sense of rhythm and atmosphere. A podcast that rewards close listening and reflects his ability to tell stories far beyond the dancefloor.
No words in the world would suffice. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for me. You always put my needs before your own. Even in the most difficult times, you always made me feel safe, warm, and secure. No one will ever forget your incredibly selfless, loving, warm-hearted, friendly, cheerful, and funny nature, and we will all carry you in our hearts forever. I have never met anyone who would say anything bad about you. Thank you for teaching me from an early age what life is really about: love, friendship, values that you believe in and stand up for, being helpful, not looking away, being active, having fun, laughing, dancing, doing something you believe in and discovering the world and different cultures. And that other things like money, status, and prestige don’t matter and won’t make you happy. I know you will always be by my side. I miss you. I love you. Rest in peace, Mom. 05.08.2025 🌻
At this point, I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to all family members and friends who are supporting us during this difficult time. We could never do this without you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
New podcast alert! This one is a live cut by Phil Simon from our latest gathering at Sandershaus Garten. He took over in the early afternoon, capturing the grey and moody atmosphere with a very elegant track selection and a stripped-back mixing style. Well-placed rhythms guide the set into a gentle drive with a touch of introspection. Thanks a lot, Phil <3
