The dogwoods have come and gone, even in New York, and I haven’t taken any photos of them :( Anyone who knows me knows how big of a deal this is. It’s the first spring in 4 years - since I first got into photography - that I haven’t taken at least a hundred pictures of dogwood flowers in all their various states of bloom: just opening up, falling apart at the end, every orientation possible, near and far, upside down and right side up, pink, white, and anywhere in between. It didn’t matter. I was taking photos of dogwoods. Anyways I’m sad I didn’t get that chance this year due to unfortunate timing and life getting in the way but I promise I’ll make up for it next year. Here are some of my favorites from the past few years to ease my pain.

The B+W film got some damage / light leak artifacts, but I don't mind the look. The color film is Portra 400, I think.
All taken with the Rolleiflex 2.8E. B+W frames are self-scanned, color frames are lab-scanned.

Over the past few weeks I've been grinding to burn down the backlog of over a year's worth of scanning and editing that I built up for myself. Luckily, I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm going to be posting a bunch of photos over the coming days to share some of my favorite moments of the past year or so.
Let's start with when my friends came to visit the Big Apple way back in April 2024.

Happy (belated) birthday to my dear friend Monica. Throwback to last year when she visited me in Milan for a week and planned a trip to Lake Maggiore, where there are islands with botanic gardens (!) and peacocks that roam free (!!!).
The dots and irregular vignetting on the frames are apparently from humidity damage. Normally I'd kick myself for the error but honestly I love the look in these shots.
