Top Model of the World is an international beauty pageant founded in 1993 in Miami and organized by the Globana Group, now managed by the World Beauty Organization. It aims to select the ultimate model on a global stage. Sri Lanka debuted in 2007 at the 14th edition in China with Deepthika Jayakody. The country returned in 2013 at the 20th edition with Pushpika De Silva, who achieved 3rd place in the Miss Globe Mini Title, marking early international recognition. A major breakthrough came in 2016 at the 23rd edition in Germany, where Visna Fernando placed as 2nd Runner-Up among 41 countries, earning Sri Lanka its first official major placement. One of the nation’s strongest results followed in 2018 at the 25th edition in Egypt , where Harini Silva achieved Sri Lanka’s highest placement to date by becoming the 1st Runner-Up, competing against 35 countries. In 2021, Sayuri Jayarathne placed in the Top 15 at the 27th edition among 33 countries. Another strong achievement came in 2023 at the 29th edition in Egypt, where Sandani Peiris secured the 2nd Runner-Up title among 44 countries, marking one of Sri Lanka’s best performances in the pageant. In 2024, Malithi Sathsarani won the Sunrise Model Mini Title at the 30th edition in Egypt. Now, in 2026, 19-year-old model Netalie Withanage will represent Sri Lanka at the 32nd edition in Egypt this May, continuing the country’s strong presence on the international stage. - - - #TopModeloftheWorld

Meet Netalie Withanage — Miss Sri Lanka Top Model of the World 2026 19-year-old model Netalie Withanage has been officially appointed as Miss Sri Lanka for the Top Model of the World 2026 competition. She will represent Sri Lanka at the 32nd edition of Top Model of the World, scheduled to take place in Egypt from May 24 to June 9, 2026, with over 40 international models set to compete. Beyond modeling, Netalie enjoys reading and cooking. She has taken part in several editorial shoots and was recognized as a New Face Award winner at Colombo Fashion Week.
