Day 2 in Rishikesh.
After checking out from my stay i straight up went to Ganga Zipline Adventure @gangazip by @snowleopardadventures at Shivpuri.
While the basic training seemed easy peesy back in their garden yard, well it got real and scary when i got looped into the safety harness at point A to travel to point B all over the ganges. One of the instructor went ahead and waited but i had completely freaked out and started calling out to all the gods i knew..
🤣🤣🤣
I still recall i was about to quit it but they kept encouraging me and telling me it is okay you will be fine, thank you so much to my bold and witty instructors i could finally tick another off of my bucketlist of must do's before i die.
Anyway because i was so scared i couldn't hold my hand out for the go pro to record the activity well, and in the second time the battery had died and the weather got stormy with rains. So, well better luck for next time till i get to do this again. Will cherish this memory for now.

26th May,2025. The most offbeat stay at Rishikesh.
Cycling all the way made so much sense as i reached my destination for the night. Absolutely worth all the risk and all the trouble one would find to reach here.
The reason i booked this stay at Rishikesh Mohanchatti is that it's completely cut off from Tapovan and is a very secluded space surrounded by mountains and jungle, all good vibes with zero crowd and no hustle bustle or chaos. I got the whole of Ladies dorm to me myself!! There are also separate rooms and mixed dorm at very reasonable rates. The common room and games corner was aesthetically done giving a warm vibe. The cafe served quality food for fair price. And the steal deal was the swimming pool.. 🏊🏽
When i had booked in May 2025 this place was run by Zostel Plus but now its been run by Pack Rishikesh @rishikesh_riverretreat so contact them if you want to book.
Trust me you will not be dissapointed.

Day 1 of reaching Rishikesh on a sudden solo trip.
It's been on my bucketlist for long to do uphill cycling.
So i found an adventure sports rental in Tapovan who rented out this beautiful Firefox Bad Attitude which is a white hardtrail MTB. And the ride began..
Tapovan to Shivpuri.. (10kms, morning,top sun, mostly uphill)
Shivpuri to Mohanchatti.. (18 kms, dusk to early evening, well it got dark, mostly downhill and then quite a stretch of uphill )
If you think the top sun was a drill, let me tell you about when it got dark on my way to reach Mohanchatti where i booked my stay.
Cycling in the hills at night is really a spine thrilling experience. Uphill and downhill is completely a different ball game when it's dark in the hills. There was not enough lights except at the 2 bridges and the passing cars. And when a car passes you their light just blinds you.
I remember there were two turns where i got blinded by a passing car and later realised i rode by the edge of the road with broken rails.
There's fear of a leopard roaming near Mohanchatti jungle is what i was told. However I reached my destination at Zostel Plus Mohanchatti safely.
I was really thankful to have completed this ride and the day ended.
Each time it was hard and i felt like giving up i was reminded of my fellow riders back home @2wheelskolkata and all its members who have been always encouraging and with me on my first 72km cycle ride and other marathon rides in kolkata. They gave me all the strength and determination i needed to hold it till i reached my destination.

There is so much to do yet.. Live your life your way. Fulfill all that your heart desires. Leave nothing to regret later. One Life, One Rule, Live it to it's Fullest. Felt great finally ticking off this from my bucket list. The class 12 me would be so delighted and proud of me now.

First time rafting at Rishikesh from Shivpuri the 16 km stretch, 26th May, 2025. On a sudden solo trip to Rishikesh, i finally crossed one off my bucket list of must do's before i die. The experience was nothing less than out of a movie scene... Well the video says it all...
