Mother & Child Quilt I’m inspired by the idea of documenting the profound labor and tenderness of mothering through collaborative craft practices. Through this project, I hope to honor this creative expression as something communal, imperfect, restorative, and joyful. I’m super grateful to the mothers and children who contributed their time, energy, and creativity to this project. DaBam & Marou (4 years old) Brooke & Ruby (1 ½ years old) Camie & Alaisdair (9 years old) Alessandra & Pascale (1 year old) Kiri & Jia (1 ½ years old) Jade & Laz (2 ½ years old) All components of this piece are collected second hand materials.

After each Mother & Child duo completed their panel, we gathered together to share our experiences collaborating with our children. We reflected on moments of connection, chaos, negotiation, play, tenderness, frustration, and creative surrender. Together, we brainstormed ways to piece the panels together into a larger composition that holds our collective experiences.

Mother & Child This project began with the desire to collectively document the intimate, expansive, and often fleeting creative space between mothers and their child. I started by mailing handmade kits to 5 artist mothers and their children, each with a cotton panel, and collected beads, string, and mark making materials. The kit included an open invitation to collaborate with your child, without rules, expectations, or final outcome in mind. Our goal was to in the end, bring the panels together into a collaborative piece. The project is rooted in care, process, and the fleeting energy of creating alongside young children. I’ll share some more images of this project over the upcoming days. @momok_mtl @k__r__c @pamdabam @sandybeachesxx

“I love being able to help people repair things that otherwise maybe they’d just throw out,” said Breinig, a junior from Gilbert, Ariz. “Like, let me show you how to fix that.” Link in bio! We wrapped our last session of the semester this week, but stay tuned for more projects, events, and workshops! 🧵🧶🍵

We are thrilled to have been in the featured in the NYTimes Sunday Styles last week! Link in bio. 🪡 “A moth hole is such a beautiful thing to have,” said Hannah, 20, a junior studying fashion design. “It’s just an opportunity for something new.” She and the dozen or so other students in the room make up Pratt’s Mending Circle, a group of young people that convenes twice a month to sip bergamot tea and reinforce pocket linings. For a little over a year, its members have brought well-worn clothes from their closets — and sometimes their classmates’, too — and stitched them back into circulation.

We had so much fun hosting our first workshop last week, “Menditation: A Prayer for Mending,” with special guest Kate Sekules @visiblemend ! Kate is a researcher, educator, and author whose work centers on the history and theory of mending as both practice and philosophy. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with her on this special gathering. Thank you to everyone who joined us! @prattfashion @_mor_studio_

While working on some pre-sale garments, I’ve been revisiting a trip I took earlier this year, during warmer months. In June 2025, I attended the “Brokenness: The Craft of Garment Repair and Alteration” workshop at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine. Over 12 days, artist @amymeissnerartist facilitated an open discourse around Critical Craft Theory, exploring the cultural and societal significance of craft and reparative practices. While experimenting with various traditional mending techniques, we reflected on the value of unseen household labor and dug deep into the vast world of repair. It was incredible to meet and work with a group of such talented makers and artists.
