It’s tonight! I’m participating in this show with my newest two sculptures. *Lineage and Latitude is extended. The show will be up till the end of July, 2025 [LINEAGE AND LATITUDE] A Group Exhibition Mapping Threads of Shared Practice and Expanding Possibility Opening May 24th at The IW Gallery, LINEAGE AND LATITUDE brings together eighteen artists who trace their development through a common academic lineage at Pratt Institute, while forging paths that diverge in intent, form, and sensibility. These are not works in dialogue because of surface similarity, but because of something more elusive: a shared fluency, an echo of place, a rigor that persists beyond critique and coursework. The exhibition spans a wide range of disciplines and media; painting, sculpture, installation, design, yet what emerges is a quiet cohesion, grounded not in aesthetic uniformity but in the underlying questions the artists ask of their materials and of the world. Some works lean into structure; others dissolve it. Certain gestures appear fugitive and expressive; others are architectural, deliberate, and exacting. Featuring work by Aileen Schretzmayer, Avery Shuster, Claire Heidinger, Elizabeth Hackenberg, Eric Geithner, Greta Schneider, Herok, Hyun Sun Ohm, Monique Kevita Edwards, Nazli Efe, Rodrigo Tafur, Siha Park, Susan Luss, Wei Yuan, Yedda Ye, Yeon Jong Jeong, Yerang Moon, and Zakariya Abdul-Qadir, the exhibition charts a constellation of practices, each distinct, yet tethered by a shared origin. What begins in one place extends outward. What is learned is transformed. Thanks to Natalie Uhl @poisneyev ⠀ ⠀ #moonyerang #art #sculpture #painter #sculptor #fineart #painting #artwork

Each summer Gallery 14C turns over its 4,000 foot gallery to another arts organization - this year we are pleased to have COPE NYC in our space, with a phenomenal exhibition curated by COPE‘s Director Vida Sabbaghi. Overlap: Life Tapestries is an exhibition spotlighting the intersectional voices of thirteen women artists across painting, sculpture, photography, and performance. Now in its fourth iteration, Overlap: Life Tapestries continues its vital inquiry into the complexities of gender, identity, and representation through the work of self-identified women artists. The exhibition foregrounds intersectional narratives that question and confront the systems shaping the visibility of women in the arts. Previously shown at A.I.R. Gallery and Pen + Brush, institutions long committed to advancing the visibility of women artists, this new iteration affirms Overlap: Life Tapestries as an evolving platform for bold, socially conscious, and emotionally resonant artmaking. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #moonyerang #art #sculpture #painter #sculptor #fineart #painting #artwork

Studio moments with Yerang Moon during her residency at COPE NYC. This carousel brings together portraits of the artist alongside a selection of paintings spanning both recent works and pieces created prior to the residency — offering insight into the continuity and evolution of Moon’s practice. Across layered surfaces, gestures, and shifting atmospheres, her work navigates memory, perception, and emotional space. Photographed within the residency studio, these images reflect an ongoing dialogue between artist, process, and painting. Photo credit: @leka.wv #yerangmoon #cope_nyc #artistinresidence

Meet Yerang Moon, our newest artist in residence. Moon is a Korean artist in Brooklyn, NY, creating multidisciplinary works that span painting, installation, performance, and sculpture. Her practice examines the relationship between microscopic structures and collective narratives, translating cycles of fragmentation and reassembly into visual form. With a strong educational background, including an MFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute and a BFA from Seoul National University, Moon has received recognition as a Fulbright Scholar and awards from the Moon Geumrye Foundation and Sinyang Cultural Foundation. Moon's work has been showcased in various exhibitions, including our Overlap: Life Tapestries at The IW Gallery and Arts 14C, as well as Pen + Brush (NY, 2025), A Space Gallery (NY, 2025), Studio In Factory (NY, 2025), and more. She has been part of residencies at L.a Studio Residency (PA, 2025) and Cellar Artist Run Residency (NY, 2024), with features in notable publications like Hyperallergic, Tussle, Canvas Rebel, and Artsy. #cope_nyc #artistinresidence #yerangmoon
