@propernye was such an inspiring way to close 2024 for me. I was a little nervous opening the @anjunadeep takeover stage with almost no one there, but watching people gradually show up and dance reminded me one of the reasons why I love this job, I just wanted to stay on stage a little longer. Offstage, I had the chance to meet so many amazing people and artists I’ve looked up to, and meeting them in person was both a humbling and inspiring experience. Some real appreciation moment for where I am, regardless of how big or small my achievement might be. Writing down all my thoughts and feelings would take forever. Anjunadeep Open Air LA last week easily became one of the most memorable gigs I’ve ever played. Perfect weather, good vibes from the Anjuna fam, and being with friends and seeing them have fun made me genuinely appreciate the moment. Thank you everyone for coming out! I was a little nervous to play most of the set with my unreleased songs, but I’d say it was fun 🧘🏽 Hope you liked them too. a bit of life story here— the past couple of years have been filled with events that affected how I see my life. most recently, my beloved father passed away, and today marks the 50th day since his passing. in June 2022, about a year into my music career, he was diagnosed with cancer and given about a year to live. from then on, we made countless ER visits and hospital stays, sometimes facing critical moments like when the doctor said he might have less than a day. despite his condition, he stayed incredibly strong and survived nearly three years. ironically, this time allowed me to spend a lot of time with him—watching movies together at the hospital and dealing with whatever came our way. I was lucky enough to be with him until his last moments, and that has left me with a profound sentimentality that words can’t describe. there’s so much I want to say about him, but since I’m starting to write songs in his memory, I’ll save it for later. thank you so much to everyone who’s shown love and support. I’ve felt so blessed to be surrounded by people who genuinely care. I’m heading back to LA soon—ready to catch up with whatever I’ve left behind. love you dad, you were the most free, honest, and warm-hearted person I’ve ever met.
